Chappell Roan's School Nights EP
Willard native Chappell Roan blew us away with her single "Good Hurt," and now she's released a six-song EP available on Spotify, Apple Music and other streaming services.
Chappell Roan began her musical career at age 12 in her hometown of Willard, Missouri, taking piano lessons and singing in her school choir, to winning the eighth grade talent show. She began performing at venues around her hometown and posting her music online, gaining listeners everywhere. Roan signed with Atlantic Records before her junior year of high school was over.
Roan’s powerful vocal range will give listeners a sense of Adele, Lana Del Rey and a little hint of Lorde. Her first single, “Good Hurt” is a beautiful dark melody that really captivates its listeners. “It’s about an addiction to pain. The meaning lies in the song and the video. Watch and listen and they will tell you everything,” Roan says. You can hear and feel her emotion in every lyric she sings: “All I really want is a good hurt. I know in my head I could do better. No one else compares to who I had first. All I really want is a good hurt. A good hurt. A good hurt.”
