It’s time to talk about two:eighteen
Evangel University student Ephraim McFarland releases new EP.
Evangel University student Ephraim McFarland began his musical career in elementary school when he started taking guitar lessons. But as time went on, he quit and decided to teach himself through YouTube. With the support of his friends and family, McFarland began producing his own music under the name two:eighteen, and recently released an EP titled Wish That I Was Here. It’s packed with an alternative sounds similar to Bon Iver and James Blake that give its listeners all the feels.
“I just kinda dumped what I was feeling into a computer program called Reason and started building around that,” McFarland says. “This past summer I stayed in Springfield and it was the first time I was truly on my own. I had no family and a few friends around, so that made me feel a few things. I just had these ideas or lines, and I would sketch them down into my computer.”
In “It Can Be Ours” listeners can hear a flood of emotion in the lyrics: “When we’ve all grown old and our friends are gone, are we searching for the things that make us all feel young? Are we chasing stars, is it all a lost cause? No, no. There’s more life in the night, take her hand, squeeze it tight. Say a prayer, say goodnight, try again in the morning light.”
