ICYIZERE: hope is a documentary about a gathering of ten survivors and ten perpetrators of the 1994 Rwandan genocide. It illustrates the power of, and the need for, forgiveness. The first version of the film was shared with audiences at the 2008 Rwanda Film Festival. Filmmaker Patrick Mureithi is a Kenyan who lives in Springfield, Mo. A self-proclaimed “African-Ozarkian,” his passion is to produce films that inspire hope and encourage dialogue.Sponsored by The President’s Council on Inclusion. |
