Eugenia Alcocer Peters, 48

Principal/Creative Director at Brandigm

Who are your fashion role models?
“Sofia Lascurian, Carmen Rión, Frida Kahlo, Narciso Rodriguez.”

What is your favorite fashion trend right now?
“Asymmetrical designs in tops or jackets.”

What fashion trend do you wish would go away?
“Cutoff jean shorts. They don’t look good on anyone.”

How long does it take you to get ready to go out or go to work?
“It depends on what I’m doing with my hair but typically one hour or less.”

If you could wear one brand or designer for the rest of your life, what would it be and why?
“BCBGMaxazria. It is contemporary [and] classy and has an edge.”

Finish this sentence: I wouldn’t be caught dead wearing…
“A sequin dress.”

What is the most embarrassing thing you’ve ever worn?
“When I was in high school I received a Christmas present that was a long sweatshirt-material jacket with huge lapels that were bedazzled and custom painted. It was a short-lived trend. Never liked it.”

Where do you find fashion inspiration?
“The classics, crafts and folk art of Mexico and high-fashion.”

What three words define your personal style?
“Classy, authentic, approachable.”

What’s your signature piece?
“My red seeds and pewter Mexican necklace and my rings.”

What are your favorite places to shop that are in 417-land?
“STAXX, 5 Pound Apparel, Loft, Town & County, TJ Maxx, Macy’s.”

What are your favorite places to shop that are not in 417-land?
“Stitch Fix, Anthropologie, Gap, Zara and unique handmade clothing shops in Mexico.”

What’s the most you’ve ever spent on a must-have piece of clothing, and what was it?
“Probably my wedding dress—not sure I want to reveal the price; it was long ago. Second to that, my Spanish mantilla.”

What’s the best bargain you’ve ever found?
“I find bargains all the time. I would say the best value is in my unique Mexican jewelry. I wear it constantly.”

What do you think is the worst fashion faux pas?
“Mommy jeans with tennis shoes.”

Do you shop at thrift stores? If so, what do you look for?
“Occasionally. Unique accessories.”
