Best Visual Artist
Susan Sommer-Luarca >>>
We love to know that this internationally recognized artist calls Springfield home. And while she’s traveling all over painting mural projects for her foundation SSL4Habitat, she’s still very visible in the community. Last year, she painted a mural of wild horses on the side of Campbell 16, she has a studio in downtown Springfield, and you can see her face at 417-land fundraisers from time to time as well.

Best TV Meteorologist
<<< Brandon Beck, KY3
This KY3 weatherguy is the one who gently reminds us to bring shoes when we head for safety from a tornado. One day last spring—when 417-land was being hit by nasty storms—we turned the TV up in the living room to listen to Brandon Beck’s storm-tracker play-by-play while hunkered down within the safe interior walls of our hall bathroom.
