When Branson Regional Airport was ready to announce its first carrier, they called a press conference on the tarmac and invited both press and the public. It was a cold day in December, and a crowd gathered in scarves and hats, sipping on hot cocoa and waiting to hear who’d be flying them in and out of Branson. Rather than just telling the everyone about it, airport employees led the group outside to watch an AirTran Boeing 717 land on the runway—a brand-new plane flown in from Atlanta.
