Best of 417 2009: Shopping

Best Customer Service

<<< Town & County
Owned by super-nice-guy Bob Lowe, this clothing store has employees who know how to treat their customers right. Town & County has been open for more than 50 years, and we don’t think that’d be possible without a staff that knows what its doing. Added bonus: Both the guys and the gals get to experience customer service done right; the store sells both men and women’s clothing in lines such as Burberry and Lacoste.

Editor's Pick: Best Grocery Store that Inspires Us to Cook

Price Cutter Plus
We can’t help it. When we find ourselves crossing the international-foods finish line and entering the natural-foods department, we just want to grab some organic carrots and cook up one heckuva curry. When it comes to grocery goodies, Springfield is in great shape.

Best Place to Buy Sporting Goods

Dynamic Earth >>>
The adventurer inside 417 Magazine readers seems to love Dynamic Earth. The store, which is owned by Matt O’Reilly of the O-O-O-O’Reillys, isn’t a giant store the size of something like Dick’s in a big-city mall. It’s small and intimate, with great customer service and plenty of gear to get you out into the southwest Missouri wilderness. Plus, for the true outdoorsy souls who see themselves as one with nature, Dynamic Earth has the added benefit of being built to be eco-friendly.
