Q: How long have you been working at 417 Magazine?
A: Seven months.

Q: Describe what you do at work day-to-day.
A: The first thing I do every morning is scavenge the conference room for donuts and find the one with the most sprinkles. After that, I work on contacting restaurants for Tasty Tuesday, helping organize our events (like Fashionation), scheduling and uploading our People Pics and putting together the framing orders we do through the magazine.

Q: Describe something that you’re proud of working on for this issue.
A: Best of 417. It is always exciting to see who won. I helped contact our winners and schedule our Best of 417 party bus, so we can go around town surprising the winners.

Q: What’s your favorite thing you’ve ever had to do for this job?
A: My favorite part of the job would be attending our events and seeing all of our hard work put into action.

Q: What’s the weirdest thing you do at your job?
A: The weirdest would be watching my co-workers leg wrestle.

Q: What’s your favorite thing to do in 417-land?
A: I love being outdoors, whether it is going for a walk at the Springfield Conservation Nature Center, tubing at Table Rock Lake or hitting up a Springfield Cardinals game. I also work at a greenhouse in the spring and summer. It’s a great excuse to bring home flowers.

Q: What’s your favorite piece of magazine lingo?
A: It’s not really magazine lingo, but I like the term “floor duty.” When I first heard it, I thought it would involve cleaning floors. (Actually, being on floor duty just means it’s your turn to man the phones and the front door during the lunch hour.)

Q: What’s your favorite thing to eat that you can only find in 417-land?
A: The Oh My God Roll at Haruno. Anything that comes to your table on fire is bound to be delicious.

Q: What would your co-workers say is your most distinguishing feature at work?
A: I can answer a phone before anyone even knows it’s ringing.

Q: Do you have a nickname in the 417 Magazine office?
A: Not really. But if Dylan Whitaker needs something, he usually just yells “Stalder!” as loud as he can across the office.
