The Caffeinated Charmer

Pam Perniciaro, 28

Regional Marketing Manager, Red Bull

How would you guess someone in charge of marketing for Red Bull would act? Brimming with energy? Check. Fast-talker? Check. Red Bull literally spilling out of her purse? Check and check. Meet Pam Perniciaro.

Two years ago, Pam, a Mizzou grad and then-St. Louis Red Bull team member, says she “stalked” her boss to get the Springfield marketing job. Pam is quite persuasive. Today, she oversees 14 people on a Red Bull street team, perhaps the most visible marketing team in the Ozarks. You know ’em; they’re the ones with the car with a giant can of Red Bull on top. Pam orchestrates their zany antics in the southwest quarter of the state, one of only 150 such managers in the U.S. Red Bull does little advertising, which means the company relies heavily on people like Pam to expose the product, and places emphasis on creativity. One recent scheme: Pam dressed her ladies in bathrobes and had them parade through Missouri State dorms, passing out free product from shower caddies. Such randomness fits Red Bull’s Know/Try/Love marketing motto as well as Pam’s own sense of irrepressible fun. We wouldn’t have our energy drink gurus any other way.
