The Trucker Trickster
Sarah Wilson-DeWald, 26
Producer, Trick My Truck
How do you get a Hollywood job without moving to Hollywood? Network like mad and land a gig producing CMT’s Trick My Truck, a show where big rigs are given an overhaul. The actual “tricking” happens in Joplin, and when the show came to the Ozarks looking for a field producer—the person who makes sure shoots and interviews go just so—Sarah Wilson-DeWald jumped at the chance. A veteran of locally made films like Larvae, Sarah’s love for the dramatic began in third grade, and grew in high school and college theatre. She landed the Truck job with help from the Missouri Film Commission and the Missouri Film Alliance of Springfield and hopes to help create more film opportunities. With legislation pending on film industry tax credits and recent local casting calls for Trading Spouses and Farmer Wants a Wife (Sarah didn’t audition; she has a husband, Edward), it could be just a matter of time.
