Crawfish for The Kitchen

Celebrate Mardi Gras a month early at one of The Kitchen's biggest fundraisers of the year.

Crawfish for The Kitchen
It’s Carnival time! Bass Pro Outdoor World’s White River Room is hosting The Kitchen Inc.’s contribution to the winter social calendar this month. Eyes in Disguise is a celebration of Cajun culture that includes a Mardi Gras theme with magicians, stilt-walkers, jugglers and Cajun cuisine by Marcel Bonetti of Hemingway’s Blue Water Grill. Exclusively at the event’s VIP patron’s party, chef Robert Cannon, visiting from New Orleans, will prepare fresh Gulf seafood and Cajun treats while rockabilly singer (and “pop idol” of the early ’60s, according to organizer Tani Kremer) Robin Luke performs.

Organizer Lisa Officer says live-auction items include treats like a week at a private Belize beach home, complete with a pool; as well as a 2.2-carat diamond bracelet from Justice Jewelers and a private dinner by Nicola Gilardi. Greene County Clerk Richard Struckhoff’s band, Geezer, is also on the lineup. It’s all part of an event that typically raises about $100,000 per year for The Kitchen Inc., one of the region’s mainstays in fighting poverty.
