417 Cooking Class: Bleu Olive

Bleu Olive’s chef and owner Sam Papanikas was well-seasoned in the restaurant business before opening this Branson restaurant in July 2008. Papanikas worked at restaurants owned by his parents, who hail from Greece, since he was 8 years old.

Friend Dimitrios Tsahiridis, former owner of Branson’s now-closed Dimitri’s Restaurant, brought Papanikas and his brother, Yianni, to the Midwest. The brothers saw potential for an upscale Mediterranean restaurant, and they now operate the restaurant together, with Yianni as the general manager and Papanikas as the owner and chef.
