The Vegetarian View
The Falafel Wrap at Migulito's Wrap and Roll Cafe
JuliRose and I had the amazing pleasure of trying out the new Springfield restaurant, Migulito’s Wrap & Roll Café (here’s a hint: you pronounce the name mih-gu-li-toes). We were sent on this mission of taste-testing the new restaurant on the premise that I am a vegetarian and JuliRose is an omnivore. So after deciding on a day, we set out on our adventure.
Once we arrived, festive colored walls were highlighted by the amazing smell of fresh food. Little did we know that ‘fresh’ was going to be the epitome of our experience. JuliRose suggested that we start off with an appetizer, so we ordered pita bread and hummus. When we got our order, the pita bread was warm from being baked right before. We even spoke with the owners, Summer and Michael Taylor, about how they run their restaurant. Michael told us that they prepare everything fresh. We weren’t very surprised, since the bread was warm and soft and the hummus had a fresh, lemony taste.
After our appetizer, I had the Falafel Wrap – which was very reasonably priced. Within the wrap, which held together until the end unlike some, was homemade falafel, organic spring greens, tomato, red onion, brown rice, and lemon tahini sauce. The falafel was all throughout the wrap, not held together in one big chunk.I’m a huge fan of falafel and let me tell you, Migulito’s stuff is good. All of the flavors within my wrap blended amazingly, the onion adding a bit of a crisp, sweet taste. The cilantro-basil tortilla that held my food all together was very good as well.
After forcing myself to stop eating the amazing food, JuliRose and I spoke with the owners again. They’re incredibly nice people who take pride in their work and are so excited to bring their flavor to Springfield – and we’re excited to have them! They have such a vast menu that will please anyone, and their food leaves you full but not weighed down. - Hope Noble
