Four new healthy food stops have 2017 looking like the healthiest year ever. Check out our roundup of Springfield’s fresh destinations:

1. Ruby's Market

According to a press release, Springfield-based Pyramid Foods will open Ruby’s Market within the next 60 days. The new Sunshine Street store centers on fresh, local foods with the motto “Good Food for All.” Options include organic grocery items, a massive produce section, a bulk foods section, on-site butchers, a full delicatessen and bakery. You can also get your kicks at the bar boasting wine, beer and kombucha (a super-carbonated fermented tea with live probiotics) on tap.

What we love: The produce section. It includes a “chop shop” where you can select produce and have it cut just the way you like it.

2. Lucky's Market

Lucky’s Market is coming to 417-land in late 2017. The natural foods store bills itself as “organic for the 99%,” offering affordable natural foods, natural meats, bulk foods, baked goods and medicinal products. Lucky’s will also feature a bar with beer, wine, cold-pressed nitro coffee and kombucha on tap. Lucky’s will open on south Glenstone in the spot originally slated for The Fresh Market, which reversed its decision to enter the Springfield market.

What we love: Lucky’s features a juice bar and a ramen bar. Yes, we said ramen.

3. Eat Fit Go

Eat Fit Go offers healthy pre-packaged meals like breakfast scrambles, chicken bowls, pastas and more, all labeled with nutrition information. The spot, which opened in December 2016, is super convenient for people on the go. We’re already big fans.

What we love: The nutrition information on every grab-and-go item at Eat Fit Go is perfect for keeping your bod in check.

4. MJ's Market and Deli

The newest branch of the MaMa Jean’s family opened in July 2016. The spot is centered on fresh grab-and-go options, although it also features a small grocery area. The building houses a commercial kitchen where an executive chef prepares ready-made goodness for MJ’s in addition to the three other MaMa Jean’s locations in Springfield.

What we love: Anything from the case full of gluten-free options. The baked goods are delicious and perfect for anyone with food sensitivities.
