Welcome to Persimmon Hill Farm
You might know this place for its tasty jams and muffins. But the spot is also great for a family berry-picking trip.
Looking for a way to get outside and have a little out-of-the-ordinary fun? Visit Persimmon Hill Farm for a day of berry picking. The farm is located a mile off Highway 86 just southwest of Branson in Lampe. It offers a peaceful and tranquil getaway. \
“We are primarily a you-pick-your-own berries farm, with blackberries, raspberries, gooseberries and some elderberries,” says
Earnie Bohner, owner and founder of Persimmon Hill. “We also have a processing component of our business, and we actually do the production of more than 20 different types of products here on the farm, everything from jams to barbecue sauces.”
After a day of picking berries, Persimmon Hill has some great menu options for people to grab a bite to eat and enjoy the serenity of nature. “When people come out, we also have a menu for them with shiitake mushrooms, shiitake quesadillas, homemade salsas and pulled-pork sandwiches with our three barbecue sauces,” Bohner says. “And we have a morning breakfast for folks, with the best pancakes in the world, possibly the cosmos.”
Apart from the great menu options at Persimmon Hill, one of the things the spot is known for is its Thunder Muffin: a big, billowy blueberry muffin that is always a hit. These muffins are jam-packed with fresh blueberries from the farm, and they are topped with tasty cinnamon. They really capture the essence of Persimmon Hill Farm.
Situated in the heart of the Ozarks, Persimmon Hill Farm is a great place to go when you want to feel far away from it all. “We are not a glossy kind of thing,” says Bohner. “We are more of an experience type situation. We try to put a frame around Mother Nature as opposed to being too fancy. It is really a pleasant Ozarks experience, picking blueberries and enjoying your families.”
