Mille’s Turn of the Century Café

Where: 313 S. Jefferson Ave., Springfield, 417-831-1996

Waxy O’Shea’s

Where: 235 Branson Landing Blvd., Branson, 417-348-1759
Price: $10.99–$11.99
Why it’s great: Waxy O’Shea’s has two dinner specials around St. Pat’s Day: The Traditional, with thinly sliced corned beef, braised cabbage and colcannon mashed potatoes; and The Boxty, with corned beef wrapped in between two potato pancakes. The chefs also plan to serve up a traditional Irish breakfast with rashers (Irish bacon), banger sausages, grilled tomatoes, beans and toast all day.

Springfield Brewing Company

Price: $9.95–$11.95
Why it’s great: Nothing’s better on St. Patrick’s day than a traditional plate of corned beef, cabbage and roasted new potatoes. The Irish head chef uses his grandmother’s recipe. (And no, he didn’t divulge his secrets.) And don’t forget to wash everything down with an Irish car bomb shot, which will be discounted the entire day. Mmmm—it’s good to be Irish.

Fox and Hound

Where: 2035 E. Independence St., Springfield, 417-890-6289
Price: $7.99
Why it’s great: Go to Fox and Hound for a plateful of corned beef and cabbage, and stay for the free pool, wide selection of green beers and their ever-popular pint night.

Patton Alley Pub

Where: 313 S. Patton Ave., Springfield, 417-865-1188

Why it’s great: Patton Alley is the perfect place to end up after the parade: The parade awards ceremony is hosted there. So after a morning filled with floats and free candy, head over to Patton Alley Pub and grab a plate of the restaurant’s traditional corned beef and cabbage. Oh, and be sure to take advantage of the drink specials while you’re there.
