34, Business Development Manager, Freeman Health System

417 Magazine: What three words define your style?
Drew Hartley: I have been told “polished, distinguished and fearless.”

417: What’s the most you’ve spent on a must-have piece of clothing?
D.H.: It’s not uncommon for me to spend $300 on a pair of jeans or $40 on a pair of dress socks.

417: What is the most embarrassing thing you’ve ever worn?
D.H.: That would probably have to be an ’80s prom dress for a contest in college. Enough said.

417: What do you think is the worst fashion faux pas?
D.H.: For men, it has to be an ill-fitting suit.

417: What is your favorite fashion trend right now?
D.H.: Colorful and patterned dress socks.

417: Where do you find fashion inspiration?
D.H.: I typically find ideas randomly on TV or flipping through magazines.

417: Who are your fashion role models?
D.H.: I can honestly say that I don’t really have one.

417: What’s your signature piece?
D.H.: I believe my signature pieces would have to be the matching of my tie, pocket square and socks.

417: How long does it take you to get ready to do out or go to work?
D.H.: I guess that depends on the circumstances, but typically around 30 minutes.

417: If you could wear one brand or designer for the rest of your life, what would it be and why?
D.H.: Due to their versatility, accessibility and affordability, I would have to go with Banana Republic.

417: Finish this sentence: “I wouldn’t be caught dead wearing...”
D.H.: Anything Chicago Cubs or Mizzou. Go Redbirds and Rock Chalk!

417: What are your favorite places to shop that are in 417-land?
D.H.: Dillard’s, Town & County, Banana Republic and Mens Warehouse.

417: What are your favorite places to shop that are not in 417-land?
D.H.: Halls in Kansas City, Nordstrom and Greenhaw’s in Little Rock

417: What’s the best bargain you’ve ever found?
D.H.: I don’t really recall a certain instance in which I’m still gloating from a bargain I found.

417: Do you shop at thrift stores? If so, what do you look for?
D.H.: I typically only shop at thrift stores for themed parties.

417: What’s your favorite outfit or article of clothing you’ve ever worn?
D.H.: I believe putting on a suit (any suit) has to be my favorite garment to wear, and I get to do that almost every day!

417: What fashion trend do you wish would go away?
D.H.: As a former baseball player, the flat-billed baseball hat trend needs to go away. Immediately.

See the Best Dressed winners walk the runway in 417 Magazine’s Fashionation: Spring Fashion Show and Party.
The show is at the Gillioz Theatre at 8 p.m. on Friday, March 21.
