Farm Camp
Cost: $35–65
The Rutledge-Wilson Community Farm is a summer playground. Classes for kids ages 4–12 allow them to learn how farming affects the world and prepare for the annual fair. Classes last for one week from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Dates vary throughout the summer.

FOR THE KICKER
British Soccer Camp
Cost: $78–123
Challenger British Sports, a national soccer organization, brings several international soccer players right to our corner of the state to teach British Soccer Camps at Lake Country Soccer. Start off your preschoolers with First Kicks, which teaches them the basics of soccer. Kids 4–6 years old can join Mini-Soccer for competitions and skill-building activities. Other classes are available for kids up to 18 years old. July 27-31.

FOR THE TUTU-LOVER
Ballet & Books
Cost: $135 for non-Credo students, $100 for Credo students
This class for your beginning dancers will get your 4- to 8-year-old boys and girls twirling, leaping and learning. A typical day includes story time, music and movement, drama, craft time and a snack. July 13–17.

FOR THE DRAMA QUEEN (OR KING)
Summer Stages
Cost: $160
The Springfield Little Theatre camps let kids explore stage make up, learn acting basics, sing, paint and learn a skit. Classes are available for ages 4–5, 6–8, 9–12 and 13–18. Each class concludes with a performance. June 15–25.

FOR THE ROCK STAR
Rock Camp
Cost: $349
Young musicians can play on stage in a real band, learn from top instructors, and record a music video for their fans (that’s you). They will rehearse, record and perform just like real rock stars. June camps last from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., July camps last from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. June 15–19, 22–26, July 6–10, 13–17, 20–24.

FOR COWBOYS AND COWGIRLS
Horseback Riding Camp
Cost: $350 per week
Camps at Libby Ferguson Training Center feature twice-daily horseback rides and general horse care, such as bathing, horse health and stable management. Ages 5 and older. Camps last from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. $350 per week. June 8–12 and 15–19, July 6–10 and 13–17, August 3–7 and 10–14.

FOR THE CEREMICS KID
Pottery Camp
Cost: $135 for six sessions
Students spend five sessions hand-building their creations on the clay wheel, then they creatively glaze them in bright hues during their final session. Each session takes about an hour and a half, and the class is appropriate for ages 4 and older. Dates are flexible.

FOR THE KARATE KID
Success Camp
Cost: $179
This Martial Arts USA Success Camp teaches facets of Tae Kwon Do, Karate and other martial arts. Most of your child’s day is spent in physical activities, exploring forms and drills that are central to martial arts, and through creative gaming children are encouraged to use what they’ve learned to excel. Dates: June 8–12, 15–19 and 22–26.

FOR THE MULTI-TALENTED ARTIST
Summer Art Camp
Cost: $75–160
Classes run for one week each through the summer and are available from preschool age on up. Kids delve into many art projects, creating things like clay jewelry, chocolate candy, personalized soap and more. Download registration forms online. Many dates in July and August.
