Pet Tales

Geoffrey Butler, President and CEO of Butler Rosenbury & Partners, and Rajah

Geoffrey Butler, founder of Butler Rosenbury & Partners, the firm that designed prominent buildings such as The Meyer Center, the Juanita K. Hammons Hall for the Performing Arts and the Federal Courthouse, got his American bulldog the way many parents got the pets they now call their own. One of his children brought it home, and it remained there when the child grew up and moved out.

For about five years, Butler and his wife, Buffy, have been the sole caretakers of the dog. Now that the kids have moved out, Rajah rules the roost. “She’s one spoiled princess,” Butler says. “She gets to do what she wants. She has her bed by the fireplace with a beautiful view of the yard. She’s our grandkid. She’s got her life set.”
