Pet Tales

Marci Bowling, Development/PR director of the Developmental Center of the Ozarks, with Sterling and Harley

Like Marci Bowling, who plans fundraisers such as the Malibu Beach Bash for the Developmental Center of the Ozarks, her cats are social creatures.

Sterling is almost 3 years old, and the protector of the house. “Sterling is the strong, silent type,” says Bowling. “At times I think he thinks he’s a dog. He keeps an eye on the perimeter of the house and who’s coming and going.” Harley has more of a jovial personality and is about a year and a half old. “Harley takes all the loving anyone will give him,” she says. “He’ll flop on his belly for random strangers. He doesn’t care.” Both cats love people. They meet Marci at the back door every day when she returns from work—eager for a belly rub, neck scratch and a treat.

Sterling and Harley also have a favorite window where they like to perch to watch birds and squirrels. Bowling calls it Kitty TV.
