How to Give
We rounded up the best ways to give back to 417-land this month.

As you plan for turkey, trimmings and time with friends and loved ones this Thanksgiving, don’t forget to give back to the community organizations that could use an extra serving of support during the holidays. Charitable giving is particularly important this year as non-profits find themselves digging deeper into their pockets to make ends meet. Thankfully, 417-landers and organizations are eager to help those in need. More than half of all donations take place between Thanksgiving and New Year’s Day, says Trent Stamp, charitable giving expert and executive director of the Eisner Foundation in Los Angeles. We’re not surprised—not only does the holiday spirit move people to give generously to special causes, the holidays are also a great excuse for parties and saucy revelry. This year, local charities have gone all out to plan benefits that make giving painless and fun.
