Top Singles 2010

We asked readers to tell us about—and then vote for—the most eligible bachelors and bachelorettes in 417-land. And boy, did you deliver!

Earlier this year we asked readers to tell us about the most eligible bachelors and bachelorettes in 417-land. You nominated 57 men and women for the honor, we picked the finalists, and then we threw it back to you for voting. Online at 417mag.com, readers cast their votes for their favorite singles until we’d narrowed the field down to the 10 winners.

Ready to meet them? Read on for a brief glimpse into their personalities. And plan to mix and mingle with them in person at our Top Singles Mingle event!

Kim Greene, 27

Online Outreach Specialist, OTC; Interested in men.

Kim…

…is a language junkie.
“I love quick wit and a good sense of humor.  If you break out a good word play, or a random word in a clever way, you may steal my heart.”

…is not a wimp.
Her guilty pleasure is whiskey.

…has recently developed a new talent.
“I worked really, really hard and learned how to whistle this year.”

…has a spontaneous streak.
“One New Year’s Eve, my best friend and I decided we needed to take a vacation. So, the next morning, we loaded the car and started driving north on Glenstone, as we approached the 44 intersection, she said, ‘East or West?’ I answered West. And 22 hours later, with countless amounts of beef jerky and a sign in the window that said ‘Cali or Bust,’ we were in San Diego.”

…has a pet peeve.
“People smacking their gum, food or spit. It’s a deal breaker.”

What else do you want people to know about you?
My favorite thing to do is laugh. I love spicy food (the hotter the better). I hope to one day be a crazy old lady. I am a huge Mizzou, KC Chiefs and Royals fan—next year is our year!

Do you have any pets?
No, thank you.

What’s your hidden talent?

I don’t really have a talent, but I worked really, really hard and learned how to whistle this year.

What book are you reading right now?
Beatrice and Virgil: A Novel by Yann Martel.

What are your favorite places to eat?
Izumi Hatake, Bambino’s, my dad’s shed when he’s smoking a hog, and anything Mexican.

What are a couple of items from your bucket list?
Being a contestant on Jeopardy!, Family Feud or Wheel of Fortune.  Living in Mexico. Learning to scuba dive and play golf.
