What are your goals?
Basically just to pursue happiness in my everyday life with career, family, church.
How do you deal with pressure?
I perform the best under pressure. I thrive on it. I actually perform my best under pressure. I’ve been that way since high school.
What motivates you?
The honest truth is making other people happy. I tend to be a people pleaser, but I am opinionated. I’m motivated by my and other people’s expectations.
If you could start a new career, what would you do?
There are a couple different things. One is I would love to own my own business. I would love to have my own shoe company. I would love to be a JAG general in the military. I’ve been thinking about going into OTS. I’m motivated because most of my family is in the military.
Who are your real life heroes?
My father is my biggest hero. He is consistent. His mood never changes. It’s amazing. The man is calm in every situation. His demeanor and intelligence is inspiring. He doesn’t talk a lot but when he does it’s for a reason and very informative. He doesn’t waste words. The most intelligent men seem to be the quietest ones because they only say something when they need to say it and don’t try to prove anything.
What’s your biggest fear?
Spiders. Seriously, that’s my biggest fear.
What’s the best book you’ve read in the past year?
1776 by David McCollugh. It chronicles George Washington and that whole time and the adversity he went through.
What’s your favorite quote?
Honestly what I think of and what I say all the time is, “Excuses only satisfy the person giving them.”
When are you happiest?
I’m happiest when I’m my family surrounds me. My family is very tight. I hate it when they leave after they visit.
Do you have a prized possession?
Honestly I’m big on very old pictures of my family that go back to the 1800s. I’m a big history buff and they’re all over my house.
What part of the world would you like to visit but haven’t?
I wanted to be an archaeologist in high school, and I would love to see the pyramids in Cairo. I think that would be so great.
When you look in a mirror, what do you see?
I honestly think it’s harder for women than for men in regards to physical appearance and beauty. We feel a lot more pressure to look better. Since high school I’ve looked in the mirror and tried to focus on the positive over the negative. I really focus on my character and what makes me who I am. It’s ok to be plainer than you would want to be when you have a great personality. I try to focus on my character.
If you could eliminate a trait of your own, what would it be?
I would just stop talking sometimes. My husband before we were married thought that I didn’t talk much at all, but when I get going I can’t stop.
If you could go back to a certain age again, what would it be?
I would go back to college and do a redo. I would go back to college because I want to do a lot of things differently.

Detail-oriented, people-pleaser, driven
What do you consider your greatest achievement?
I honestly don’t feel like I’ve had my greatest achievement yet. A lot of things I’ve done anybody else could do.
What talent would you most like to have?
It would be great to be able to sing, but everyone says that.
What do you know for sure?
The first thing that comes to mind is my faith. Faith is the best way to put it.
When was the last time you did something reckless?
There’s been a lot for me. Probably jumping off a 60-foot cliff into some water, and then I had to get stitches.
What is your philosophy in life?
Honesty.
If you had $1 million, how would you spend it?
I wouldn’t spend it. I would save it and invest it.
What sort of work do you try to avoid or put off?
I really hate cleaning the bathroom.
What do you worry about most?
I’m a woman. We worry about everything. Not being successful enough, not being good enough for my standards.
Can you describe a situation in which you feel you behaved courageously?
When someone was threatening my younger brother I kind of stepped in in a very sticky situation, and helped him.
What mistakes in your life have you learned from?
That you need to go through college before you get into a serious relationship.
What was your first job?
I took care of this lady’s cat. She was allergic and she had four of them. I took care of them for 8 years.
