Lots of stuff to do this month!
As you can probably see by our website, we've got a lot going on, not least of which is our May issue, which takes life in 417-land on the road for not only food, but more than a little road construction. You'll love our Dining Day Trips cover story, which explores the far corners of 417-land for some truly unique and delectible bites. Then you'll marval at our second feature, which explores all the road constrution slated for Springfield and 417-land this summer. It's quite a read. You'll want it along on your... um, road trip.
• We've also started taking nominations for our Ugliest Dog Contest, which turns the conventional wisdom that all animals must be dog-show ready in order to receive adoration. Not so. Between now and May 22, we want you to nominate your ugliest pooch for our first-ever Ugly Dog award. This summer you'll help us narrow the 20 finalists down to three winners, each of which will receive a day of pampering and a full-page photo in 417 Magazine later this year. Your nomination will require a $10 donation to the Southwest Missouri Humane Society. Who knows? Maybe next year's ugliest dog winner will be adopted thanks to the SMHS's efforts. Click here to nominate!
• Finally, we're polling all 417-land women with our online For Women Only survey. The results will be published later in 2009. Remember—this is for women only. Why? 417 editor Katie Pollock (a woman herself) will be along later to explain further.
• And don't you forget about our Hot Husbands. We've done the photo shoots (steamy!) and starting May 4 will be unveiling the men (not like that, ladies!) you'll be voting on in June one by one on the 417 Blog. You won't want to miss a single stud.
