iPhone users = Tastemakers?
Urbanspoon is an iPhone web application that allows users to find local restaurants, submit and read reviews, and recommend restaurants based on their experience. There's a surpising amout of info on 417-land in that database, and every month in their newsletter, your city's top-ranked restaurants are listed. One 417 staffer gets these e-newsletters, and shares them with Table Talk.
Without further ado, Springfield's top-ranked restaurants for the last month are:
The Coffee Ethic — 20 likes
Haruno Japanese — 18
Arris Pizza — 10
Kai — 9
Springfield Brewing Company — 8
Keep in mind the technical savvy of a restaurant's regular clientele may play into these rankings, in which case Heritage Cafeteria could serve the best food in the entire world, and you'd never see it in the rankings. Just sayin'.
