Restaurant Week Testimonial: Big Whiskey's
Tonight is your last chance to enjoy our 417 Restaurant Week lineup. Sixteen local restaurants are offering a Restaurant Week menu, from which you and a partner can enjoy a three-course meal for just $41.70 (or $20.85 for one person). Our staff and our readers have been trying the menus (click here to browse them all) since last Wednesday, and are excited to talk about their experiences. This is one of those testimonials.

We found what may be the best bargain for 417 Restaurant Week: Big Whiskey's. At first I was skeptical because it’s easy to think of Big Whiskey’s as bar food. Now, while the bar food is very good, would dinner there be on par with Gilardi’s Touch, Flame and Metropolitan Grill? Yes, and with a twist. Our waitress recommended that four of us split two dinners, meaning she was convinced we could all four be fed happily for the $41.70. She was right. The loaded potato skins and white queso spinach dip appetizers were so plentiful, we couldn’t finish. The main courses; center-cut sirloin filet and bacon chicken ranch Alfredo were big enough for all four to have a taste of each. You’ll be pleasantly surprised at the quality of the sirloin, which is on par with the beef at Flame or Doe’s. Dessert was fried cheese cake and the brownie bite sundae. The four of us managed to eat about half of each dessert, and the rest went in a take-home box.
If you’re still looking to fill up the remaining nights of Restaurant Week (ends tonight) Big Whiskey's will be a happy surprise. Go with a group of four and you each get fed for just more than ten dollars.
