The Our Wedding Story contest was created to give all 417-land grooms- and brides-to-be a chance to have their wedding featured in 417 Bride. Nearly 30 couples decided to take a chance, and a team of judges narrowed the list to five finalists. Next we let you all vote for your favorite, and Bethany LaCavera and Brandon Dhondt won the contest.

It was two weeks until the big day, and I have to admit: the stress was starting to build. We tried to take care of a lot of things early on to make sure stress wouldn't get us at the end, but just like anything else, things happen.

Just a little more than two weeks before the wedding, we had three people in the wedding party tell us they wouldn't be able to make it (yes, three!). We were frantically rearranging people. Luckily, Brandon and I are blessed with awesome friends and family, and they stepped up and took a lot of stress off of us.

Lucky for us, one thing we did not finish early was making the programs. We were able to make the changes to them (and have the correct wedding party listed) without any major expenses.

I was so busy with school that I needed all the help I could get. Brandon worked a ton, and so did our friends and family. They really saved us: I'm pretty sure we would have went crazy if it wasn't for them!
