JQH Arena schedules more events

Missouri State University has announced two big events at JQH Arena in the first half of 2008. Okay, they're "big" depending on your tastes, but they're certain to draw a crowd (and isn't that all that matters?):

• Sunday, January 11, is WWE Smackdown Live. The event is at 5 p.m. Watch the stars of the WWE smack one another with chairs, pile drive each other into mounds of thumbtacks, and generally act like that guy in high school who drank six cans of Mountain Dew before gym class. Advance tickets are available now by calling 417-836-6666.

• Saturday, May 2, is a comedy show featuring Larry the Cable Guy. The show is at 8 p.m. Yes, he's lowbrow. Yes he's corny. But just try to sit through a set and not laugh your butt off. (Video below is NSFW, depending on where you work.) Pre-sale tickets go on sale December 17 at missouristatetix.com for members of the JQH Arena Founders Club and others in the know. We'll let you know when tickets go on sale to the wider public.
