Congrats to the 417 staff!
Just in from the Missouri Association of Publications: 417 Magazine has been named a finalist in four categories at the annual Ranly Awards (basically the MAP's version of the Grammys, minus the past-preggers musical performer... at least we hope so). Congrats to editor Katie Pollock, art director Cassie Darst and their staffs for nominations in the following categories:

• Best writing overall (September 2008 issue—10 Most Beautiful Women)
• Best writing of a single article ("Speed Graphic," profile of Paul Speed, June 2008)
• Best overall design (August 2008 issue—Annual Dining Issue)
• Best design presentation of a single article ("The Ultimate Shopping Guide,"—November 2008 cover story; the online presentation doesn't do it justice, but here you go..)
Congrats to all! Winners will be announced March 5 at the MAP's annual summit in Columbia.
