J. Buck's closing; Circuit City not far behind
The paper had it last night: Looks like J.Buck's on the Battlefield Mall is closing "until further notice," meaning there's currently no honest to goodness sitdown restaurant at Battlefield Mall, unless you want to cross the parking lot to Nakato (not in this weather, thank you).
We hear it's possible that it could re-open at a later day, and likely under another name (the license to use the Buck family name apparently is a pricey one), but in this economy nothing is certain.
• And this morning we read on cnn.com that Circuit City is closing its remaining stores. We've had good service almost every time we've bought something at the Springfield location, and the store was never too crowded (which was, alas, the problem). There's now officially a little less splice in our lives.
