Interesting event coming up Februry 3, courtesy of Stereo One and hosted by Vino100: a local DVD release party for Bottle Shock, a movie about wine based on a '70s tasting that basically put California wines on the map. Vino owner Matt Bekebrede says the event is a fund-raiser for the Developmental Center of the Ozarks. Read more about it here. The event starts at 5:30 p.m., the movie at 7 p.m.
"...We are doing an event along with Stereo One to benefit DCO on February 3rd. It is the DVD release party of Bottle Shock which is a (wine) movie based on the Judgement of Paris tasting in the early 70's...this is the tasting where wines from California beat French wines in a blind tasting and really put California on the map in the wine world. And what makes this DVD release I guess even more special is that this movie never made it to Springfield on the big screen... it only hit big, major cities."
