Don't Forget the Details!
Don't Forget the Details!

By Bethany

The details of our wedding slowly developed, and they changed often for us. We did a rough count at the beginning of the planning process, and we knew that we were planning on inviting close to two hundred people. This caused us to change our reception hall, because our first choice would not have allowed for Brandon and I to walk around and talk with everyone. We want our guests to know how much we appreciate their support, and we want them to enjoy celebrating our love as much as we are.

We decided we wanted our invitations to have a picture of us that everyone could keep, but in choosing the picture we couldn’t decide which we liked best, so we ended up choosing three and just randomly sending them to people. We printed the words on velum and used a ribbon to tie the photo to a red rose-colored cardstock, with the picture in-between.

We were very picky on finding a photographer that fit our wedding style. We spent some time with one, and neither Brandon nor I liked him. We weren’t comfortable around him, and we felt like he thought his ideas were more important than what we wanted. Then we found Lasting Memories Photography by Karen Rohlman. She was so easy to spend time with, something that is important since we are going to spend the entire day with her, and we felt like she put us first. She has an amazing ability to capture the feelings and closeness in her pictures, which is exactly what we wanted.

Even though Brandon doesn’t care for dancing, he knows I love it so the entertainment at our reception is mostly going to be great dancing and food. And speaking of food, we are going to have an Italian-themed dinner… something that will be risky to eat in a white dress, especially with how accident prone I am—so it should be quite entertaining!
