Mall adds two new retailers (and a third in September)
Mall adds two new retailers (and a third in September)

Remember, oh, six months ago or so when a mass e-mail went around saying that a ton of national retailers were going to close? Yeah, that didn't happen. Except for Steve and Barry's. They did close. Pleather just isn't in style this year.

Anywho, the mall is actually opening two new retailers: Millefiori Milano, a place to buy those smell-good wicks for your home, and Tradehome Shoes (no corporate website is readily available, but here's their Twitter feed!) a family-focused footwear store that carries pretty much every brand you can think of (yes, including Crocs). The Millefiori location is the Italian company's first U.S. store, according to mall PR.

A third newcomer, Zumiez, a shop for the extreme-sports set, is set to open in September.

The full release follows. We just like being the harbingers of good retail news.

The retailer also features a large selection of athletic shoes for the whole family, including Asics, Puma, Nike and more. Tradehome Shoes is now open for business in JCPenney North Court.

Millefiori Milano home fragrance store is located at the mall's East Entrance by Chico's. The Battlefield Mall location is the popular Italian company's first store in the United States.

The new Zumiez store will be located in JCPenney North Court and feature lifestyle brands for young men and women centered on activities that include skateboarding, surfing, snowboarding, BMX and motocross. The product mix includes apparel, footwear and related accessories including skateboard and snowboard specific hardgoods.

"These new retailers are just in time for summer and back-to-school shopping," said Christine Moses, director of marketing and business development for the mall, "and Battlefield Mall is pleased to offer them to the Springfield community."

Battlefield Mall is the largest mall in the Springfield area and is anchored by Dillard's South/Women's, Dillard's North/Men's, Macy's, JCPenney and Sears. Its more than 150 specialty stores include popular favorites such as Ann Taylor Loft, Banana Republic, Bath & Body Works, Build-A-Bear Workshop, Coach, Coldwater Creek, Express, Hollister, Sephora, Starbucks Coffee, Victoria's Secret and White House/Black Market.
