New Issue: Another Preview!
So, unless you've been living under a rock for the past four years, this issue's cover for "Best High School" plays off the massive pop-culture hit High School Musical. Art director Cassie Darst says they found the teens for the cover shoot through word of mouth; one was a model for a recent issue of 417 Bride, another girl is the daughter of photographer Edward Biamonte (who shot this cover). Both called their friends, as teenagers are wont to do, and the rest was history.
At the shoot, says Darst, the kids "jumped around until they got tired, and we swapped in some new kids, and then they jumped until they got tired, and we put the original kids back in."
