Hi, readers.

It's a good day to be a staffer at Whitaker Publishing. We're in production and design for the June issue of 417 Magazine, which goes to the printer a week from Friday. That means that while art director Cassie Darst and editorial designer Bethany Lohmeyer are busy designing layouts, lifestyle editor Savannah Waszczuk and I are busy editing them. This is when we get to see it all come together, just the way it'll look when it hits your doorstep at the end of the month.

Exciting, right?

As we speak, Cassie is putting together our long profile on a local personality who we think you'll like. You'll like the pictures that go with the story, for sure. I don't want to give it all away, but I will say that the images have a hyperrealistic style, fancy sets, shiny people, toy guns and a ton of props--all inside an old barn.

Curious? You'll learn more in a few weeks.

Katie Pollock
Editor, 417 Magazine
