Two chances to hear John Danforth
John "Jack" Danforth, a longtime Republican Senator from Missouri who, along with Kit Bond and John Ashcroft, helped move the state decidedly more toward the "red" side of the map, is scheduled to speak at two different engagements today in Springfield. Danforth (who, we might add, has managed to land a very dapper photo on his Wikipedia page) will first speak at the Oasis Convention Center (2550 N. Glenstone Ave.) as part of the Rotary Clubs of Springfield's annual all-club membership. Only Rotary members are allowed to attend—but we know there are lots of you out there. At 3 p.m., Danforth will speak to the public at Drury University's Stone Chapel (900 N. Benton Ave.) as part of the school's W. Curtis Strube Ethics in Business and Lyceum Series. The event is free to attend. A press release from Rotary Clubs of Springfield follows.
