The weekend goes on, rain or shine

Just an update on how the weather is affecting the big outdoor events this weekend: namely Artsfest on Walnut Street and tonight's First Friday Art Walk.
It's not.
From the First Friday Art Walk committee: "Art Walk, like Artsfest, is a rain-or-shine event. We will have Art Walk 6-10 p.m. as usual!"
From the Arts Council: "Artsfest on Walnut Street is on - rain or shine!... "Artsfest is a Springfield tradition and we are committed to the success of the festival, even if it is a little soggy outside."
The same can't be said for many of rural Greene County (and other county) roads. The county and emergency managment crews have been doing a good job keeping the public updated on washouts and closed roads. Keep your eyes on the news organizations or on the county's website (greenecountymo.org) for updates.
