Early holiday open houses

It's the first full weekend in November, which means its time for the first official sales and Open Houses of the season. A number of the locally owned retailers and gift purveyors in Springfield and Ozark are going all out early in the season. Here are the details for this weekend.

Boomland Square

For holiday knick-knacks to accent your home this season, Boomland Square is premiering its Christmas garland, ribbon, figurines and much more at its open house today and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. 1996 W. Elm St., Ozark; 417-581-6512; boomland.com

Countryside Cottage

From 10 p.m. to 6 p.m. today, and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Countryside Cottage is premiering new Christmas items for this season at its Christmas Open House. Large Woodwick and Tyler candles are 10 percent off, and there is a daily drawing for a $25 gift card. 1316 E. Republic Rd., 417-882-7997

The Feathered Nest

The Feathered Nest is hosting its Christmas Open House today through Sunday from 10 a.m to 6 p.m. Come in to see their new array of holiday decorations, including ornaments, table linens and their own line of candles. Gamble's Gift Gallery

For Gamble’s Holiday Open House there is a promotion of three different Arthur Court pieces for $35, including a large rectangular tray, 12-inch round tray and a small bowl. Also a new Fiesta Vietri pattern, Bellezza, will be on sale for 20 percent off. These are available today until 5:30 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. 1332 E. The Gathering Room

Have a need for trees? The Gathering Room specializes in Christmas trees and florals. Today until 6 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and  Sunday from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. The Gathering Room wil have rugs, drapery panels florals and dining tables and chairs for 20 percent off. Glass ornaments will be on display for purchase as well as glass table Christmas trees.  The Gathering Room also has new pomegranate sage diffusers for sale to refresh your home. Paper World

Paper World is hosting its Holiday Open House today and tomorrow (November 6-7) at its store. They'll be sampling cocoas and candies, and one shopper will win a gift basket, just for shopping for gift ideas! Hours are today from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. 2726 S. The Persimmon Tree

This is the place to go for holiday décor, jewelry and clothing, The Persimmon Tree is having its Christmas Open House today and tomorrow from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. 209 W. 2nd St., Ozark; 417-581-5123

The Thicket and The Nest

These conjoined stores will feature an array of new Christmas items at its Christmas Open House today until 6 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday from 12 p.m to 4 p.m. 1856 E. Cinderella St., 417-823-8600 (The Thicket); 417-889-6707 (The Nest)
