November 417: A sneak preview!

The November issue of your favorite magazine hits shelves within a week. Here's the editor's snippet of stuff we think you'll love.

It's almost time for you to hold our November issue in your hot little hands, but I wanted to give you a quick preview of what you can expect to see this month. We've put together a great issue for you, and these are just a handful of the highlights:

1. We profiled 83 stores (83!) in our giant shopping guide and categorized them based on what they sell. You won't want to start your Christmas shopping without this in hand. Plus, there's the cutest photo ever of a little girl eating a dog treat. It's precious. But don't worry; the treat has human-quality ingredients.

2. Our brilliant art department used helium-filled balloons to show off the items in this month's Necessities style pages.

3. A Branson native tagged along with three filmmakers as they worked on their new feature-length documentary about his hometown. In the magazine, you can read all about what our writer saw and how he grilled the filmmakers on their intentions.

4. We give you a sneak preview of the JQH Arena, with lots of info about the new space's bells and whistles.

5. Did you know that heritage hogs raised in 417-land eventually become tasty pork dishes created by big-name chefs, such as Wolfgang Puck and Mario Batali. It's true.

6. And just in time for the chilly weather, we found the five best warm drinks at local coffee shops.

7. Local designers for Bridgeblue make super-nice doggy beds and pet food bowls that would rival your own home furnishings on a schmanciness scale. It's like pet decor for the sophisticated pup, and it's created right in 417-land.

Those are just a few of our favorite tidbits from this issue. There's a ton more, so be sure to grab the November magazine when it hits newsstands. And if something you read lights a fire in you (good or bad), we'd love to hear all about it. You can e-mail comments and letters to me at editor@417mag.com.

Happy reading!
