About this Event
The ATHENA Award will be presented annually by the Chamber. The award honors a person "who has achieved the highest level of professional excellence, devoted time and energy to the community, and, especially, opened the doors of leadership opportunity to women."
The award - named for Athena, the Greek goddess of intelligence and wisdom, arts and sciences - was created by the Lansing, Michigan, Chamber of Commerce in 1982. Today, the ATHENA Award program includes more than 375 U.S. cities and has recognized more than 8,500 women and men for their accomplishments, community service, and opening pathways for others.
