About this Event

Free activities include a plant and seed exchange, live music, birdhouse painting, face painting, collaborative art projects, beekeeping displays, a “dinosaur dig” where kids may dig for miniature dinosaurs, games, silent auction, bicycle repair and recycle, giveaways and much more.

Dirt Day is a sponsored by the Woodland Heights Neighborhood Association, in partnership with the Springfield-Greene County Park Board and multiple community partners. Event sponsors include ESC Inc. Consulting Engineers, Sunbelt Environmental and Quality Auto Works.

Lafayette Park, established 1869, is one of the two oldest parks in Springfield (along with Washington Park), predating the Springfield-Greene County Park Board’s establishment in 1913. Lafayette Park is located within the Moon City Creative District.
