Ubuhle-Inspired Beadwork Workshop

Join Museum Assistant Shauna LeAnn Smith for a one day, two hour workshop that will provide you with in-depth information about the traveling exhibition "Ubuhle Women: Beadwork and the Art of Independence" and the opportunity to create a small beaded artwork using similar techniques used by the Ubuhle artists.

This $20 workshop will begin with a short exhibit tour and discussion, followed by hands-on artmaking where each participant will bead an image on to black fabric stretched in an embroidery hoop using glass seed beads. All materials are provided; however, you are welcome to bring additional beads you would like to use. No beading experience is required. This workshop is recommended for patrons ages 13 and over.
