About This Event

August 11-12, 2018 | 2 sessions – Saturday and Sunday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
October 6-7, 2018 | 2 sessions – Saturday and Sunday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Hours: 15.00 | Alumni Center Suite 314B | Fee: $800

This 15-hour class meets for 7.5 hours daily for two days and will provide you with
instruction regarding the FAA’s 14 CFR, Part 107 pilot requirements. You will
receive information on airspace, aeronautical charts, weather, METARS, aircraft
loading, airport operations, judgment & decision-making, radio communications and
more. You will be given a progression of FAA style sample examinations,
each building on the previous. This will be followed by a question and answer session, allowing
you one-on-one opportunities with instructors, so examination requirements
are clearly understood.

Each class will cover the following information, required to pass the FAA’s 14 CFR,
Part 107 examination:

-FAA 14 CFR Part 107 Regulations
-Airspace classification, operating requirements and flight restrictions
-Aviation weather sources
-Effect of weather on UAS/drone performance
-UAS loading
-Emergency procedures
-Crew resource management
-Radio communications procedures
-Determining the performance of small unmanned aircraft
-Physiological factors affecting pilot performance (including drugs & alcohol)
-Aeronautical decision-making & judgment
-Airport operations
-Maintenance & preflight inspection procedures
-Registering and marking small unmanned aircraft
