About This Event
Support The Victim Center’s 24-hour crisis response line for victims of violent and sexual crime. The primary role of a volunteer victim advocate is to listen, validate, and support the victim through crisis intervention by phone. Volunteer victim advocates choose two to four call shifts per month and attend a monthly meeting for training and support.
Volunteers must be 21 years of age and complete an application, interview, and background check. Three-week training series will be virtual, with some independent pre-work. Interested individuals can find information on The Victim Center’s website or contact Alisa Garbisch, Interim Volunteer Coordinator, at volunteerprogram@thevictimcenter.org or 417-863-7273 for more information.
