1. 4 By 4 Brewing Company

After a run or bike ride along Galloway Trail make a pit stop at  4 By 4 Brewing Company (2811 E. Galloway St. Suite A, Springfield; 417-861-6400) across from Sequiota Park. Here you can also partake in Beer Yoga every Sunday for a gentle Vinyasa Flow with plenty of sipportunities. There are also oversized games for entertainment, live music and an adjoining grassy lawn you can stroll.

2. Mothers Brewing Company

Truly a household name, Mothers Brewing Company (215 S. Grant Ave., Springfield; 417-862-0423) offers events you won’t want to miss all month long. This month, we recommend their 5th Annual Rockin’ Roll Bike & Music Festival on October 8. But even more than their beloved brews and events, we recommend taking a tour. Not only will you learn about their brewing process, you’ll also hear interesting stories, like how their Cobra Scare sour wheat ale was named for an infamous—and very real—incident with live cobras loose in the city.
Brew to sip: Mr. Pumpkin, a beloved seasonal pumpkin ale

3. Tie & Timber Beer Company

At Tie & Timber (1451 E. Cherry St., Springfield), it’s all about the neighborhood vibes when you sit for some sips in their spacious outdoor beer garden. That’s because this spot is located in the heart of one of Springfield’s most happening boroughs, near the Rountree intersection of Pickwick Avenue and Cherry Street. Grab some eats from nearby Team Taco, Skully’s Ramen or Cherry Picker Package x Fare before you snag a spot at Tie & Timber.

4. Hold Fast Brewing

For an experience right in the middle of it all, stop by Hold Fast Brewing (235 N. Kimbrough Ave., Springfield; 417-761-2318) in the heart of downtown. Their calendar for October is already filling up with live music events from The Brueggemann Gouge Jazz Band, Tweedle and the Dees and Mojo Lite. If music isn’t your thing, they also host trivia and comedy nights throughout the month.
