Enjoy a very simple/short hike in Big Creek Natural Area in the Arkansas Valley. This hike follows a high bluff line that showcases magnificent views of the river below.
After the hike, the real show begins. Magness Lake houses a huge population of Trumpeter Swans during the winter. These birds are the largest waterfowl in North America, weighing up to 35 pounds and having close to 8’ wingspans. The swans are best seen right before sunset, so we will base our timing on these optimal viewing times.
Perfect for:
Beginner hikers up for a challenge
Families wanting a unique outdoor outing
Experienced and intermediate hikers looking for a special Ozark adventure
Age requirement is 8+ (suggested age 10+)
