Flo Eatery and Wine Bar is closing after six years. Current owners John and Johnson Tan will open The Big Island Grill and Hawaiian BBQ in its place on September 2 with a menu of grilled marinated meats, tiki drinks and everything you'd find at your favorite beach restaurant. Count on hut straws, bamboo and Hawaiian décor.

"We just wanted to do something different that Springfield doesn't have," John Tan says. "It's really good stuff like your backyard barbecue, macaroni salad, rice, veggies, appetizers and more."

A nighttime hotspot for many, Flo was known for its shareable tapas, surprising sushi rolls and dinnertime entrées.

Bid the Battlefield Road restaurant farewell at its Flo~ing away party this Friday and Saturday, August 26–27 and enjoy "the best specials in town."

Farewell, Flo.
