Sitting around a cheap, plastic card table in their spare bedroom, Mike and Lindy Cronkhite launched Cronkhite Homes in 2014. Over the next decade, the company grew into one of the top production homebuilders in southwest Missouri, employing 49 full-time team members and three part-time interns. But let’s start from the beginning.

Mike grew up on a farm in North Central Oklahoma. After graduating from Wakita High School in 1994, he headed to Oklahoma State University and collected not one but two degrees—mechanical engineering technology and business administration. Lindy, who grew up in southeastern Oklahoma, graduated from Hugo High School in 1995 before also attending Oklahoma State. She earned a degree in health sciences and later became a licensed Realtor, broker and master yoga instructor. Today, she leads as the broker of record for Cronkhite Property Management.

The couple first crossed paths at Oklahoma State, and in 2004, they got married. Together, they’ve raised two children in Springfield: Crew, 18, a swimmer at Glendale High School, and Poppy, 15, a tennis player at Springfield Catholic High School.

Mike and Lindy first lived in Springfield from 2002 to 2004 while Mike worked at Mercury Marine. They returned in 2013 to pursue a new path: homebuilding. They founded Cronkhite Homes in 2014, and in August 2024, Cronkhite Homes was acquired by another residential builder.

Mike launched Enterprise Property Management in February 2022 and recently rebranded to Cronkhite Property Management, focusing on single-family rentals. In just two years, the company expanded from managing 100 properties to 350. Its mission is straightforward: to deliver reliable, high-quality property management solutions that ensure tenant satisfaction and maximize returns for property investors. The firm serves single-family homes, condos, apartments, townhomes and multi-family properties across southwest Missouri, with a focus on professionalism, client care, transparency and results-driven strategies.

Mike also owns Enterprise Land Development LLC, which oversees land development projects across the region, and MLCP Homes, which builds new homes in Mount Vernon and Bolivar. His latest venture, Settler Structures LLC, offers custom shops, barns, garages and outdoor living structures designed for the “modern settler.”

Cronkhite Property Management is focused on purposeful growth while preserving Springfield’s history. By expanding into multi-family developments, the team is creating housing options at a variety of price points, all while maintaining the quality and standards the community expects.

Despite their many ventures, Mike and Lindy prefer to work quietly behind the scenes, letting results speak for themselves. Their impact on housing and property management in southwest Missouri is already clear, but those who know them say this is just the beginning.
