Sitting at The Cellar (507 W. Walnut St., Springfield, 417-351-2824), listening to live jazz and sipping on a cold cocktail was the most “normal” I’ve felt in more than a year. I’ve been waiting to stop at this spot since it opened, and when I finally made it, it didn’t disappoint. At my first glance of The Cellar’s cocktail menu, the Metamorphosis Tea caught my eye, but as a non-vodka fan I had to reevaluate. I landed on Sage Advice—a combination of blue agave spirits, grapefruit nectar and toasted sage. It was like an innovative take on a margarita: sweet nectar, tangy grapefruit citrus and herby sage made for a truly wise combination.
