If you’re looking for fresh produce and some local character, visit one of the many local farmer's markets like Farmer's Market of the Ozarks and the Greater Springfield Farmer's Market.

Farmers Market of the Ozarks

2144 E. Republic Rd., Springfield
When: Saturdays year–round, 8 a.m.–1 p.m. (spring, summer and fall), 9 a.m.–1 p.m. (winter)
Along with offering produce from southwest Missouri vendors, the Farmers Market of the Ozarks also holds a range of events including farm-to-table dinners, fundraisers, classes and more.

Greater Springfield Farmers’ Market

2825 S. Glenstone Ave. #101, Springfield
When: Saturdays 8 a.m.–noon (year round), Tuesdays and Thursdays  8 a.m.–noon (April–October)
The Greater Springfield Farmers’ Market has been operating since 1979 and is made up of more than 75 vendors. You’ll find everything from fresh fruit and vegetables, meat, coffee, baked goods and sweets to crafts, flowers and much more. 

C-Street City Market

321 E. Commercial St., Springfield
When: Thursdays 4–8 p.m., Saturdays 9 a.m.–2 p.m. April through October
Historic C-Street is home to the seasonal C-Street City Market. The City Market doesn’t just offer everything you’d expect from a local farmers market—it also offers the opportunity to shop, eat and drink at all the usual Commercial Street favorites. What’s better than picking up some local produce or crafts before taking a breakfast break at Van Gogh’s?

Fair Grove Farmers Market

38 S. Main Street, Fair Grove
When: Wednesdays 3 p.m.–6 p.m. until October.
Held under the pavilion at Fair Grove’s historic Wommack Mill, the Fair Grove Farmers Market has plenty of farm-fresh goods from local from local vendors.  

Ozark Farmers Market

844 Finley Farms Lane, Ozark
When: Thursdays 3–7 p.m., May through September.
The Ozark Farmers Market offers fresh, locally-grown produce and operates with an emphasis on sustainability. Pick up cinnamon rolls, jams, free range eggs and much more from the Finley Farms location.
